Meet Kari McCoy, a real estate professional who knows what it takes

With a career in real estate Kari McCoy looks the part – classy vehicle, styled hair, great wardrobe, broken and chipped fingernails. Wait, that last one doesn’t quite fit with the rest, but it fits with McCoy. You’ll understand when you meet her. McCoy, a certified residential specialist with Coldwell Banker, doesn’t just help people buy and sell homes; she tackles the transaction from every angle.
“When something has to get done, I do it myself,” McCoy said.
That “something” includes scrubbing floors, painting, spackling, and channeling a bit of George Washington by chopping down a cherry tree. With a lot of remodeling experience to pull from, McCoy will spruce up a home in no time and if she doesn’t know how to fix something, McCoy promised “I’ll learn how to fix it.”
As a certified professional stager, McCoy also offers this free service to clients who list with her.
McCoy also has a stellar communication record. Unless she’s in the middle of a contract presentation, she’ll answer the phone – anytime, anywhere. She once made a sale in a bathroom at the San Francisco zoo. McCoy said she had no qualms about taking the call, explaining “I made (the client’s) life change because I answered the phone.”
McCoy also follows up with her clients’ lenders to ensure a smooth process.
Though her family had its roots in real estate, McCoy said she joined the profession “by accident” when some friends asked her to help sell their home. “They twisted my arm,” she said. From there, business grew and more than 20 successful years later, McCoy still loves the business. “I get to have fun and I get to serve people…and I get paid,” she said.
McCoy said she especially enjoys house hunting for clients. “Then it’s the challenge of ‘Can I get a lower price for them?’ That really excites me,” she said.
